Over the course of the last few decades the financial services industry has focused on separating money from life. However, in the last few years a handful of financial planners in the United Kingdom, including Planning for Life, have emerged whose core proposition is that money and life are inextricably linked. It is not possible to develop a life plan that does not put in place a financial architecture that will support and lead to the the achievement of profound life goals. Similarly, a financial plan that sets financial goals without reference to life goals is superficial and doomed to failure.

Money And Emotions

These visionary planners also understand that money is not just about the accumulation of wealth, the physical pounds and pence. Money is also about keeping emotions in check. There is nothing on earth that arouses such contrasting positive and negative emotions. Joy, anger and sorrow are all by-products of money with these emotions often blinding us to the realities of life. Such behaviour often causes foolish decisions to be made that could have been avoided through rational thought.

Navigator

In the last few years, we have developed a 10 step system relating to financial planning which is known as ‘Navigator’. Navigator is designed to assist ordinary people who are in pursuit of a system that can help them prosper now and in their later years. navigator deals with:

  • The emotional side of money
  • Goal setting
  • Understanding yourself
  • Cash flow analysis
  • Spending plans
  • Investment
  • Compound returns
  • Asset allocation

Navigator should help you develop a financial plan which produces long-term results. Consumers are now feeling the excesses of the last few decades as the government have introduced a number of measures to reduce public spending and lower the deficit. An example of this are the recent pensions reforms which promise to eat into retirement savings.

Making A Stand

Yet the domestic and international financial situation is not the only major change we have to deal with. The fabric of society is altering with technology advancing to previously unimaginable levels along with a change in demographics due partly to the ever increasing life span of the human race. Our environment is also rapidly changing as are societal values. In the face of these tides of change we can either surrender or make a stand. We can wave the white flag and allow these issues to consume us or we can start steering our own ship to safety. This can be achieved by taking control of our finances and our lives in order to ride the winds of change to our desired standard of living.

Project Eve

The Navigator system is here to help you achieve victory in your life. It is here now and we will be supporting it throughout the year on our website with additional blogs, commentaries, webinars and workshops. In addition, we will have tips and advice from six of the UK’s finest financial minds who have collaborated to create Project Eve. We realize that The Financial Service Authority’s Retail Distribution Review is not the dawn of a new age in financial services. The real revolution involves clever financial and life planning through systems like ‘Navigator.
